Talks & Sermons
I regularly offer guest preaching, academic talks, and more informal talks on my research or related topics. I am also available to speak on panels, and I would love to visit your congregation or organisation, whether in-person or online. Possible topics include disability justice and theology, personal experiences as a queer and disabled UU, the history of Unitarian Universalist sex ed, and religion and science progressive religious involvement in the eugenics movement. I am also very comfortable giving sermons rooted in the Christian liturgy (it is very likely some disability theology will seep in, as well!).
For sermons, I can work with your existing order of service, and am happy to add a Story for All Ages and other worship elements if requested. For talks, plan to put aside about an hour for speaking and questions (shorter and longer sessions are possible upon request). Guest preaching and talks may be either virtual and hybrid; I do not typically offer in-person only services for access reasons. Similarly, you’ll need to have automatic captioning enabled on your platform of choice. I am happy to help you set up either of these options if they are new to you!
