Services

I create customisable workshops for groups at various stages in their disability justice and inclusion journey. We will set aside approximately three hours (shorter or longer workshops are possible!) for an interactive presentation incorporating activities and time for discussion.

I offer both virtual and hybrid trainings, and I am happy to travel to you if feasible! Pre-existing topics include Disability 101, Disability Language and Etiquette, and Events Accessibility.

Workshops

I regularly offer guest preaching, academic talks, and more informal talks on my research or related topics. I am also available to speak on panels, and I would love to visit your congregation or organisation, whether in-person or online. Possible topics include disability justice and theology, personal experiences as a queer and disabled UU, the history of Unitarian Universalist sex ed, and religion and science progressive religious involvement in the eugenics movement. I am also very comfortable giving sermons rooted in the Christian liturgy (it is very likely some disability theology will seep in, as well!)

Talks & Sermons

Are you writing a sermon, reflection, or story on disability, or including queer and/or disabled characters, and want to make sure your material doesn’t include any offensive or outdated terms and appropriately reflects the reality of those groups? I can help with that!

Sensitivity reading is a process in which a reader with lived experience as a member of a marginalised group reviews your work to ensure it portrays members of said group in an appropriate manner, and doesn’t rely on stereotypes or misinformation.

Sensitivity Reading

You’d like your worship service, concert, conference, gala, or other event to be an accessible, inclusive space where everyone is welcome, but you don’t quite know where to begin, and you’re a little intimidated by CART, captioning, hybrid spaces, and other accessibility tools. Or maybe you already know some access basics, but you’d like to learn how to do more. Events accessibility coaching may be perfect for you!

Accessible Events Coaching

My academic and denominational research centres on progressive religious involvement in the eugenics movement, especially that of Unitarians and Universalists, and the possibilities for a restorative justice response.

Outside of academia, one of the main focuses of my ministry is to empower Unitarian Universalists to engage with and confront our denominational history with the eugenics movement, and the legacy of ableism and racism it has engendered.
