Welcome!

I’ve written a lot of standard bios in my life. You’ve probably
read a lot of standard bios in yours. If you ask me to produce
one of them for your congregational newsletter or lecture
introduction, I will absolutely do that. In the meantime, here
are some fun facts that might help you get to know me a little
bit:

  • I drink a potentially alarming amount of tea on a daily
    basis.

  • I was born in Chicago, and yes, I have strong opinions on
hot dogs. Less so about pizza.

  • I own an eminently reasonable number of petticoats.

  • I live with an extremely small tortoiseshell cat named
Jade, who would like to be your new best friend.

  • My rollator came from England, and thus is, unfortunately,
    named Roll-y Lad.

  • I have been waltzing and folk dancing since I was about seven. This would have been considered very scandalous in the 1800s.

  • I sing a lot, but I am completely incapable of deciding on karaoke songs. If I go to karaoke, I will instantly forget every song I have ever heard. Really, if you have a karaoke song suggestion, please email me.

  • In my spare time, I write very silly novels with my cousin set in an alt-history Regency featuring queer characters.

And here is a list of my more traditional credentials:

  • I hold an MDiv from the Boston University School of Theology with a concentration in Interfaith Leadership, an MS in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, and an AB in Philosophy with a minor in Linguistics from Bryn Mawr College. My directed study, completed in the last year of my MDiv, focused on queer, disabled women, mostly Unitarians, who nonetheless participated in the eugenics movement.

  • I am the current Vice President and former Student Minister for EqUUal Access. (Website here?)

  • I have served as Co-Lead of the Disability Caucus at General Assembly since 2022.

  • I was a panellist for the LREDA Fahs Lecture in 2024, and the winner of the Carolyn Cartland Sermon Award in 2020.

  • I have given a number of formal presentations on my academic research, including at General Assembly, the UU Studies Network, and the Lumen et Vita conference at Boston College.

  • I received grant funding from Boston University to conduct archival research on Unitarianism and eugenics at the Wellcome Library in London.

  • I served as a member and then Co-Chair of the Executive Board of the Rider’s Transit Access Group for the MBTA in Boston, MA from 2019 to 2024.

  • Before attending seminary, I served as a Religious Education Coordinator and Director of Religious Education for several years, and remain a proud member of LREDA and a certified Our Whole Lives teacher.

  • In my former career, I was a grantwriter and event planner for arts and social services nonprofits in Philadelphia.
